Conditions of Hire

This agreement between "The Hirer" and Amberley District Community Vehicle Trust (ADCVT) was made on the "Order Date" and is valid until the "Dropoff Date".

  1. All drivers must be 25 years or older.
  2. All drivers must hold the appropriate licence for the vehicle hired.
  3. A copy of the Driver Licence for each driver must be provided to ADCVT prior to the hire.
  4. The hirer and drivers will familiarise themselves with the ADCVT ‘Safe Drivers Policy’ and all other documents provided in the “Drivers Manual” available in all vehicles.
  5. Vehicles may only be driven during the stipulated hire period by the persons whose names and licence details have been provided to ADCVT.
  6. In the case of any accident the hirer is responsible for the completion, in full of the accident report form (available in the drivers’ folder) and to follow all instructions there in.
  7. In the case of an ‘at fault accident’ the hirer shall be liable for the first $500+GST for the van in question.
  8. In the event of an accident while the driver is under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, he/she will be responsible for all costs arising.
  9. The hirer is liable for all speeding, parking and traffic infringement costs incurred during the Hire.
  10. No alcohol is to be consumed while the vehicle is in motion. ADCVT does not hold an alcohol licence. Drivers can be fined if alcohol is consumed when the vehicle is in motion.
  11. The vehicle must be returned in a clean, tidy condition and be full of fuel. There is a fuel card in a pocket on the front of the logbook. A charge may be incurred for cleaning the vehicles if they are not returned in a clean condition.
  12. Should the vehicle not be returned at the stated time the onus will be on the hirer to ensure the safekeeping of the vehicle until it is returned.
  13. Should the conditions of this agreement be breached in any way the hirer will be liable for any additional costs arising.
  14. Vehicle logbook must be completed at the end of every Hire.
  15. A fee may payable if a vehicle is booked but not used or if a cancellation is not received within 48 hours of the beginning of a booking.
