About the Trust

Our Story

This is a brief summary of the history and operations of the Amberley District Community Vehicle Trust (ADCVT).

The Amberley Community Trust (ACT) came into being in 1991 when a group of locals decided to buy a community bus and later a van. Over time ACT became defunct and the operation of the vehicles came into disrepute. It was decided by a small group in 2017 that a new Trust be formed to take over ownership and operation of the community bus and van. The Amberley District Community Vehicle Trust was formed at this stage and the assets of ACT transferred to ADCVT.

We are funded by ECAN to the rate of $10,000 a year and seek sponsorship when appropriate. We generally run the operations of the Trust at a small surplus.

Over the years the original vehicles have been replaced and we now own two 12 seater Hiace vans.

The Trust is managed by a board of up to eight voluntary Trustees.
